1. People are not traveling all year long
Most of the population doesn't travel for more than 2 to 3 weeks out of the year. On top of that, most everyday travelers aren't actually creating UGC, and the creators who do aren't all choosing the exact same destinations. This means that even if there are many travel content creators out there today, there is absolutely still a place for YOU!
2. There are billions of businesses in the travel industry
This is the main reason why you can pitch a hotel collaboration literally anywhere in the world. Hotels, lodges, Airbnbs, retreat centers, guesthouses, suitesβyou name it! There are so many different kinds of accommodations available globally to choose from. Beyond lodging, there are also plenty of small local tourism enterprises, tour guides, and rental agencies in almost every city.
Some of them already know the power of UGC and are actively doing multiple collaborations a year. However, remember that travel UGC is still a relatively new concept for others, and some establishments might not immediately understand what you are offering. Thatβs why itβs so important to fully master the concept of UGC yourselfβso you know exactly how to explain your value and your role as a creator.
3. Content gets outdated fast!
Social media moves at lightning speed. A viral video from six months ago is already old news to the algorithm. Brands and hotels constantly need fresh, up-to-date visuals to stay relevant. Think about it: a lodge that hired a creator for winter content will desperately need someone new to shoot their summer campaigns. Rooms get renovated, menus change, and marketing strategies evolve. Hotels will always need a steady, ongoing stream of fresh content to feed their social media channels.
In the end, the probability that you end up pitching the exact same establishment, for the exact same dates, as another creator is near zero.
